Safeguarding & Wellbeing
At Ynys Môn Gymnastics, the safeguarding and wellbeing of all our participants are our highest priorities. We are deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every gymnast, regardless of age or ability, can thrive.
Our safeguarding practices are comprehensive and proactive, ensuring that all participants are protected from harm and have a positive experience within our club. This commitment is reflected in the following key areas:
Qualified & Safely recruited Staff
All our coaches, volunteers, and staff members have current, valid DBS and Safeguarding Certifications. They hold relevant qualifications and certifications, ensuring they are equipped to support the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of our gymnasts.

Clear Policies and Procedures
We have established clear safeguarding policies and procedures that align with national guidelines. These policies cover all aspects of child protection, including how to report concerns, managing disclosures, and ensuring that our environment is safe for all participants.
Safe Environment
Our facilities are designed and maintained with safety in mind. Equipment is regularly inspected, and the gym is set up to minimize risks. We also ensure that the ratio of coaches to gymnasts is appropriate to provide adequate supervision and support during all sessions.

Parent and Guardian Involvement
We believe in partnering with parents and guardians to ensure the best outcomes for our gymnasts. Open communication and transparency are key, and we encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's gymnastics journey, including staying informed about our safeguarding practices.
Meet the Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team
Our Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officers (SWO's) are a dedicated team with Time to Listen Qualifications who respond to any and all concerns. Working in conjunction with our National Governing Body (Welsh Gymnastics), they keep up to date with safeguarding regulations and ensure all staff and volunteers are up to date with Safeguarding training.
